Ancient Roman city, Antibes has a prestigious place in the heart of the great French historical events which will delight lovers of history and old buildings. Discover the archaeological museum on the “Remparts”.

A major fashionable summer resort, in the early twentieth century Antibes attracted many of the world's painters and writers such as Fitzgerald, John Dos Passos, Jacques Prévert and of course Picasso.

The Picasso Museum, is a magical place, featuring some of the works created by the famous artist when he visited there in 1946. If you have an artistic inclination, many workshops for adults and children are held there.

Contemporary art also has its place. Admire the original Nomad statue by the artist Jaume Plensa at the end of the jetty.

With over 300 days of sunshine a year, enjoy the special light illuminating the bay, and good swimming on the sandy beaches that you can reach easily on foot: “La Plage de la Gravette” at the foot of the ”Remparts” at the heart of city ; the beaches of “Ponteil“ and “Salis” offer a view of the mountains. Further afield, the beaches of the Cap d'Antibes are also worth a visit.

Every morning you can revel in the authentic atmosphere of the “Cours Massena”: a typical Provençal market, and sample fresh local produce with a cool glass of "rosé"!

Antibes will delight everyone

There is a tourist train passing by the "Remparts", through the Cap d'Antibes to Juan-Les-Pins.

They will marvel at the Mediterranean seabed aboard a glass-bottom boat or on a visit to the Oceanographic Museum of Monaco.

They can appreciate the fantastic display of orcas and dolphins in the largest water park in Europe, they will enjoy the farm Kidsland or the fountains of the Aquasplash park. There is a large adventure park in the forest of Villeneuve Loubet.

Teenagers will love a drink in the pubs of the old town, the night life of Juan-Les-Pins and shopping in Cannes.

Meander along the creeks by kayak or canoe, sail by hobbie cat in the bay of Antibes, enjoy the thrill of water-skiing in the bay of Juan-Les-Pins, dive into the clear waters of the Mediterranean, take a cruise for the day on a beautiful sailing boat or rent a motorboat to escape in the Bay of billionaires.

There are numerous land-based activities as well: walking or running around the Cap d'Antibes, follow the marked trails of the surrounding mountains for walking, cycling, mountain biking, canyon exploration. In winter, the first ski slopes are less than one hour away!

Antibes is delightful all year round with the activities of its many markets: the old covered market every day, the clothes market every Thursday, the antique market every Saturday with its craftsmen: jewelry designers, glassblowers, potters.

  • The antiques fair in April brings together industry professionals for a major fair lasting for 3 weeks.
  • The “Déantibulations” in the heart of old Antibes in June features beautiful street shows (acrobatic dancers, a circus, puppets, street plays ...) for free, which are open to all.
  • The “Voiles d'Antibes” in June brings together sixty of the most beautiful classic yachts of the world for a splendid 4-day regatta in the bay of Antibes.
  • The Juan Les Pins Jazz Festival in July remembers the biggest international artists of their time in the enchanting setting of pine forest overlooking the bay of Juan-Les-Pins.

the beauty of the Region

Visit the natural pine and Eucalyptus forest of Lérins Islands or make a trip to the famous village of Saint-Tropez.

By train or bus you can get to the beautiful city of Nice (20 km), the Principality of Monaco (40 km), Cannes and the bustling Croisette (10 km).

You can rent a car for the day to explore the charming villages of the hinterland: the village Eze on a rock overlooking the sea, the beautiful bay of Villefranche sur Mer and Sain-Jean-Cap-Ferrat, numerous galleries St. Paul Art Vence or Mougins or the vineyards of the Var for wine lovers, or olive oil factories in the hinterland of Nice and Menton. In the Haut-de-Cagnes a wonderful museum explains the cultivation and making of olive oil since pre-Roman times; From there you can get a splendid view of the whole of the "Côte d'Azur".
